Takeover by @alexberggruen -- to me, the flesh-like strokes within #DeKooning’s earlier works evolve beautifully into his 1980s paintings, like the present -- here, pared-down interpretations of the human form boast bone-like elements and outlines of the turns and curves of the body in a simpler manner -- “Untitled VI” (oil on canvas, 1985) by #WillemDeKooning, in our Post-War & Contemporary Evening Sale on Tuesday -- my favorite aspects of this painting are the pockets where the white passages don’t fully cover the deep layers of color beneath, and for a split second you can catch a glimpse of the artist’s working process // #Christies #ModernArt #ContemporaryArt #AbstractExpressionism #AbEx
