Allan Steck and Steve Roper published "Fifty Classic Climbs" in 1979. The climbs range from the well trodden to the seldom seen. The one climb that had not seen a second ascent was the East Buttress of Middle Triple Peak in the Kichatna Spires. ?The granite tower was first climbed in 1977 and as a young climbers this was everything we looked for. ?
Adventure is my motivation. To increase the "hair shirt factor" we skied into the range in April of 1991. The start of the route involved a bit aid climbing. In this snap shot I'm clearing dollops of snow from under a roof. ST was the king of understatement. "Not so bad."? This pitch succumbed to gravity a few years back. Long live geomorphology.
