I embrace every stretch mark as if I were a tiger dressed in stripes🐅💜 I have never gotten into depth about my scars - some self inflicted, others caused by weight rehabilitation from my past battle with anorexia.
I used to feel ashamed in the wounds I wore, fearing they blemished my own reflection. I worried about what others had to say, and the oftentimes abrupt conclusiveness that would follow.
I feared that yesterday’s pain would haunt me forever, limiting my own healing by the implications these scars carried.
But no matter the effort in masking these so-called flaws, nothing could conceal the underlying lack of self-acceptance.
I write this today boldly, as I have seen and embraced the blessings within my personal journey of growth. I see symbol in my own healing, one that claims strength in survival, and blessings within imperfection.
Power, after all, is obtained not simply from our past, but rather in the lessons it reaps. 💪🏼 Yesterday’s pain only facilitates in today’s beauty 💜
