Of all the photography disciplines shooting at night is the one where knowing your gear inside & out really helps. The last thing anyone wants to be trying to figure out their settings in the middle of the night on a cliff somewhere when it's freezing cold & pitch black. ( trust me, I've done it ?) Everytime I go shoot I have a checklist that I look at religiously to make sure I'm not leaving something out. And needless to say I still do. These are my go to essentials.
.
@sonyalpha AS7II body
- Sony 35mm f1.4
- @Sigma Corp Of America(シグマ) 20mm F1.4 ( the lens I shot this with)
- @fotopro.usa Tripod - Charged iPhone with @photopills app for tracking Milky Way + shutter release
- Extra camera batteries ( they die quicker when cold) -Extra lens cloths, for condensation.
- Headlamp, I prefer @Petzl because they work the best with gloves on. ( usually a backup small flashlight) - Hand Warmers ( also work well to keep batteries warm)
- Extra layers including a light waterproof shell even if it's super warm out condensation + wind = ?
- Thin gloves - Candy (usually Haribo) ??
