A guide led a group of tourists through the refurbished rotunda earlier today at the Capitol in Washington, DC. The rotunda reopened to visitors after more than a year of repair work. Meanwhile, Congress returned from a 7-week break highly attuned to the fall elections. One of the legislators’ most urgent but divisive tasks is to find a way to fund the government after the fiscal year ends on September 30, since neither the House nor Senate advanced annual spending bills. The photographer @gdemczuk took this photo earlier today while on #nytassignment in Washington.
