If you're on the right gig or of the mind to do it on your own, you get to grab your camera, see the world, meet new and interesting people, and hopefully photograph some of them. But I'm always struck by the wonder of the haphazard moment, of the accidental picture, the one you just happened to walk by, drive-by, sail by, skateboard by. Well maybe not skateboard. Today coming back to the Press center in Rio after a morning at archery, I saw The Marriott hotel right at the entrance of the drive into the Press Center lit up with the most fabulous reflections of sky, clouds, and sun. Yesterday was a cold damp somewhat rainy day but today has seem to turn a little corner and the clouds are out sharing the sky with a brilliant blue white light. Someone the other day on one of my posts asked me not to use words like 'countenance' anymore, so I'm not using it today. But I'm still looking for a word to describe that little buzz that I, like most photographers, get when I see something really cool and I grab the nearest camera and some vain attempt to capture it. #Rio2016 #Olympics #Brazil #Travel #Explore #Discover
