Photo by: @rezaphotography //Heading for the Front // #Afghanistan // We were, with the writer and journalist Sebastian Junger, went for the National Geographic Channel, on assignment to meet with Massoud, who had been coordinating a resistance movement against the Taliban, who had taken over most of the country, from his stronghold in the Valley of Panjshir. We had just passed the Kokcha river and were heading in the direction of a position at a post nicknamed Abdallah, which had been taken by the mujaheddin only two days earlier. As the Taliban attempted to retake the post, the rockets were whistling around us. Both horses and men had no other choice than to continue to advance towards an uncertain outcome.
