“When Amazonia’s keepers noticed one of our arapaimas had a swollen belly, we teamed up with the Zoo’s veterinarians and life support system team to figure out the cause. To examine the fish, we fashioned a restraining device out of PVC pipe that held the fish steady while veterinarians performed an ultrasound. It turned out our arapaima has accidentally swallowed two rocks.
