In an age of “peak TV,” it’s harder than ever for comedic protagonists to achieve the cultural impact of a Homer Simpson or an Archie Bunker. But for die-hard fans, @bojackhorseman has attained that status by representing a specific kind of modern unhappiness. The animated show is about an anthropomorphic #horse living in Los Angeles who suffers with existential, career and substance-abuse issues after the death of his sitcom.
