#MandelaDay, beginning week 4, O.G. - (a pic from the past weeks) working with director @madeleine217, writer Stephen Belber and the #2 actor on the call sheet, a young man serving 65 yrs in Pendleton, wrestling with his past mistakes ideally to create - within the difficult confines of his present circumstances - a more constructive future. Been an enlightening and challenging experience for me, absent judgment. We listen to each other, build trust, explore & learn together in an attempt to tell an authentic story that adds to the much-needed dialogue in our country on crime & punishment. If we only provide an example to everyone involved here that creative collaboration is possible between unlikely partners on difficult issues and that the men incarcerated here are capable of much more than most previously assumed - including themselves - I think we can all be proud.
