Lax team senior year of college was up there, but I got hurt early (and started acting) and played awful after. That year with #6, we had not one point scored on us all season, until the championship game against #11 (hard dudes, no question), which we lost on a fumble returned for a TD. The man at the upper right corner was a MPD detective and our head coach - Coach Jarrell. Friend of my mom knew him and took me up to NW from SE to play on his team. When he said to get a thing done, it got done. We did it. More out of respect than fear. But there was a li’l fear in there, too! What a teacher. Tremendous coach - disciplined, dedicated, wanted our best - expected it - taught us how to bring it out and praised us when we did . Great days for us kids. A great league for the city. And smart.
