Though a trek to see gorillas is one of the wildest and emotional wildlife encounters we have had, the structure is very regimented. Your hike can range from 15 minutes to over 6 hours, depending on their location and movement. Once you locate them, you get to spend a glorious hour watching them interact with each other. The is the second time we have seen the dominant silverback, with about 3 minutes to go in our hour, get up and display his size to the group before walking off into the brush. It was almost as if he knew our hour was up and it was time for us to leave.
