Family and friends of Philando Castile, the African-American man killed during a traffic stop last week by a suburban police officer in Minnesota, gathered in #StPaul today for his funeral. Family members have described Philando, who was 32, as a gentle, kind man who loved his job supervising an elementary school cafeteria. His death, along with the shooting of #AltonSterling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the deaths of 5 Dallas police officers at the hands of a sniper, have galvanized the national debate over race and policing. @joshualott took this photo of the coffin holding #PhilandoCastile as it was carried to a horse-drawn carriage.
