Thank you for all of your kind messages and comments about my new tattoo but my white bedsheets aren't too impressed! Like everything in life we all have our individual tastes, opinions and desires and this is mine. I decided to have a lotus flower and hand of Hamsa on my stomach because the lotus is such a thing of beauty which grows from murky water against all odds, it's symbolic of finding hope in the darkest of times and reminds me that whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger. The hand of Hamsa is a protective amulet from ancient faiths to encourage happiness, luck, health and good fortune. It also guards against the evil eye which I have in the middle of the tattoo and is indicative of the malevolent glare of others. Being in the public eye I've had my fair share of criticism, insults and bullies, I spread only peace love and happiness but others are still so quick to judge me. I chose to have my stomach tattoo'd because after having my daughter at the age of 19 I was left with stretch marks across my lower stomach, deep red scars I neither wanted nor could remove and it shattered my confidence and self esteem. I've lived with them for almost a decade now and I didn't want to be saddened by them anymore. Much like a burn, a cut or injury I didn't want to see my past wounds and suffering. My two children are my world and I'm incredibly blessed to raise them as a single parent and now my post pregnancy body is one of hope, peace and inspiration to me rather than an unsightly reminder of the pain I have been through. Unlike everything I do in life my bodyart is not to please others it is the one thing I actually have for myself and I'm so incredibly overjoyed with it.
