Bridget Brennan is the Special Narcotics Prosecutor in New York City. She’s attacking the problem of prescription addiction at the source -- doctors who over prescribe these drugs. Her office successfully prosecuted one doctor for manslaughter after 16 of his patients died from overdoses. “We started looking at this when we found doctors who were acting like drug dealers. They were literally exchanging prescriptions for cash,” Brennan says, “As prosecutors, we were sort of the last line of defense and we stepped in.” #PrescriptionAddiction
