Joe Putignano is an accomplished gymnast and acrobat who performed in Cirque du Soleil. He’s also a recovering addict. Joe was in the hospital after a surgery and was administered opioids even though his medical chart warned that he was an addict and should not receive them. “I immediately felt incredible. It triggered that desire … to keep that high and not tell anyone about it.” Joe says he was lucky and didn’t relapse, thanks to a strong recovery program but had an obsession for the pills for many months after. #PrescriptionAddiction
