Photo by Michael George @migeophoto // As you near Expedition Wolf you hear a sea of barks echoing through the trees that gradually turns into a roar. Turning the corner, there are hundreds of dogs excitedly wagging their tails, hoping it's their turn to run. 250 dogs to be exact, of which 125 are rescues. They live their days in a large community, occasionally driving dogsleds through the twisty woods. It is hard to walk around without getting roped into petting every. single. dog. The moment you stop playing with one, another starts to bark and wag its tail, hoping to win your attention. It was heartwarming to see how happy they were living in their little village. Since half of them are rescues, the caretakers kept describing to me what they looked like when they first arrived (underweight, mangy fur coats) compared to now.
