April 16-24 is #NationalParkWeek – celebrating America's best idea with free admission to every National Park. In recognition of this great event (created by @nationalparkservice and our conservation partner @goparks) we're highlighting a different National Park every day through April 24.

Today we turn to the only American National Park south of the equator: the National Park of American Samoa. Spread across three South Pacific Islands – Tutuila, Ofu and Ta‘ū – this wholly member of the National Park system features coral reefs, tropical rain forests and wildlife including fruit bats and sea turtles. Their remote location, cultural history and volcanic geology make these "Islands of Sacred Earth" unlike any other National Park. #FindYourPark #NPS100
