Germany, France and England were neighbors. The exhilaration of modern technology and progress was making everyday life better for most people. No one could have imagined the fragility of modern life. No one could have imagined how rapidly the peace and stability of everyday life could become living hell. The renowned WWI historian, Professor Michael Neiberg tells us that what took the world to war were the decisions of about ten people in positions of authority.
