A year ago today, Mr Lee Kuan Yew left us. Tens of thousands queued for hours to pay their last respects at Parliament House, where his body lay in state. As he made his final journey past the Padang, a 21-gun salute was fired. This is one of the artillery shells fired in that salute.

Before we begin our Cabinet meeting this afternoon, my colleagues and I will take a moment to remember Mr Lee, and to observe a minute of silence.
