The elephant parade is leaving town. On Sunday, the #elephants of @ringlingbros and Barnum & Bailey Circus will perform for the last time in New York City as the circus closes its run at @barclayscenter. The elephants’ retirement comes after decades of pressure from animal-rights activists and changing laws and tastes. @heislerphoto photographed elephants going through their paces last Friday before a show at the Brooklyn arena.
