Photo: @rezaphotography // The Legend of the Secret // There is a legend which says that a child possesses all the knowledge of the world while in the womb. When the baby is about to be born, the child is visited by the angel of life who lays his finger upon the infant’s lips so that he may keep the secret of the universe within him. Thus, each of us preserves this vestigial knowledge.

Exile is part of the daily existence of many Kurds who fled the violence along the History. Two worlds come together in this photograph, and could almost exist independently of one another if the gaze of the child did not lead us directly to his grandmother. Innocence and sadness, trust and anxiety, joy and resignation are juxtaposed.
