Photo by @catherinekarnow Karlovy Vary, or Carlsbad, a small spa town in the Czech Republic, is famous for the warm mineral waters known for their healing qualities. For two centuries, kings, emperors, musicians, poets, celebrities and every day travelers have been coming here to take the waters. This view, shot from my hotel room, shows the stunning architecture of the town: secessionist, art nouveau and art deco styles. Many of these have been restored during the past 20 years and are jewels of this era of architecture.
