Photo by Kevin Schafer @schaferpho @ナショナルジオグラフィック – Grass Trees (Kingia australis) bathed in light after a summer storm in the Stirling Ranges of Western Australia. I spent several weeks documenting the unique, often slightly odd, endemic vegetation of this far corner of Australia, one of the the world’s biodiversity hotspots. When I found this location, it was pouring rain, but I could see a gap in the clouds to the west. In that case, it was simply a matter of curling up under a grass tree, and spending the next few hours waiting for a beam of light. It doesn’t always happen - this time it did. #Stirlingranges #Bluffknoll #grasstree #nikonphotography #botany
