A talented photographer in her own right (producing numerous stores for the magazine before turning to editing and now the DP), like a therapist, Sarah has taught me so much -- about myself (maybe too much...), our depth of seeing, the enormous power of editing. She also inspired me to feel.

Sarah has been sage editor on more than five of my stories for National Geographic -- Hope in Hell, Pirates of the Malacca Straits, Malaria ~ Bedlam in The Blood, Girl Power, Sacred Water and surely more.

This afternoon, Sarah and her equally inspiring partner, @billmarr, kindly stopped by the gallery and coffeehouse for a chit-chat, hugs, sharing fire and yes, a rather rare selfie.

If anyone ever -- ever -- wants to learn the true art of editing and visual storytelling, walk the longest desert, swim the roughest sea, somehow attend one of the event where folios are reviewed or workshops she may be teaching, having Sarah inspire you and your work: "John...do you love it? Do you really REALLY LOVE IT? If not, get it outta there!" "Noodle it. You gotta noodle it more, John!" Love you, Sarah, can't wait till we can dance towards some just pondered projects, mused over coffee.
