The try hard face. Sometimes it's enough to reach the desired objective; other times you leave empty handed with nothing to show except knowing you gave every ounce of physical and emotional energy you could muster. For me this time around it was the latter - my 5.14 project in Spain did not end in success, despite some heartbreakingly close attempts. The harsh sting of failure was soothed quickly as I exchanged Spanish limestone for fresh snow and friends in the welcome embrace of home that gave me the needed distance to remember that nothing truly worthy comes easily and that great goals breed great uncertainty - one of life's steady challenges that keeps us all wondering what's next and pushes us to continue exploring our true potential.
