If there's one singular lesson I've taken away from this year of pursuing audacious endeavors that push my own personal limits and cause me to question and doubt myself everyday, it's that failure is a necessity. It's important and valuable and should be embraced and confronted and not shied away from. Another thing: it's sorta uncomfortable at times and makes me a little temporarily sad. Today I fell again on my sport climbing project, twice. I was upset, but I progressed by a minute amount - a half a move to be precise. Final thoughts: a tiny progression is progress nonetheless, sport climbing is stressful and I forgot that aspect but am trying to not freak out about it, and the best thing about today was my cool pants.
