Spent the last few days doing random dorky sport climber stuff like stick clipping through crux sections out of fear of whipping, obsessively sanding overbuilt calluses off my hands, hopelessly groping holds I'm not strong enough to pull on, fondling ones I can just barely clutch, slipping off glassy footholds black with rubber, and "sussing micro-beta" all while bandalooping around on the side of a cliff. Never mind the futility of the process because for me the stoke is like no other when I move all smooth and with a certain swagger and feel teeny tiny and all airy way high up but am finally comfortable and not afraid and in my element.
