Taking a walk through the rice fields @soulshinebali. This rice is almost ready to harvest. I tried it once and cut an area about 60 feet by 30feet(20meters X 10meters) it was an insane low back and hamstring workout and I was sore for days afterwards. You bend over and grab a stock of rice and using a wooden handled sickle cut it a couple hand widths above the water. That much cutting it yielded about 100 pounds of rice(45 KG). It took me about 4 hours to cut that much with a hand sickle, calf deep in mud and then pound the cuttings to get the rice seeds to fall off. After that you lay it on a tarp and dry it in the sun until the hulls fall off the grains, then you toss it in the air with a basket and let the hulls blow away in the wind. I've never done that part of the job, but I can tell you that you get rice dust in every crack and crevice of your body and hair. It's given me a deep appreciation of every bowl of rice I've ever eaten. Now imagine billions of people around the world eating with rice as their main staple and you get the point.
