Photo by Jeff Gusky @hiddenwwi | The Post Téléphonique was once the telecommunications center in this French WWI underground city which now lies beneath beautiful farmland in Picardy not far from the former frontline trenches.

In 1918, American WWI soldiers found a home in this underground city for about six weeks. They left an abundance of carvings, drawings and messages to the future. These have been in darkness for a hundred years.
