Photo by @andywcoleman // Old Faithful is impressive any time of year, but there is something different about being in #Yellowstone National Park in the winter. On this morning, I was one of the few who got up before sunrise to head out to the geysers. I think some people were disappointed by the gray skies, but just sitting there in the quiet watching the steam rise from the valley was very peaceful. I wasn't sure how well the eruption would show up against the gray background either, but I wasn't about to miss an opportunity to find out. I took hundreds of photos during the few minutes that Old Faithful was erupting with most of them blending into the background in some way.
