Most natural history museums were created in a time when people thought they needed to subdue the Earth. Today, the Natural History Museum in Berlin understands its role as an educational one: their mission is to teach visitors about the imperative need to preserve our planet. The “wet collection” is one of the most spectacular sections in the museum. More than 270,000 animal specimens are preserved in 80,000 liters of alcohol.
