Photo by Jeff Gusky @hiddenwwi | Along the former Western Front in the French region of Picardie exist many centuries-old stone quarries. During WWI the quarries were often converted to underground cities with rail, telecommunications, power stations, hospitals, offices, living quarters, theaters and chapels.
This photograph was a French Catholic chapel carved out of stone in one of these underground cities by French soldiers during the war. It was photographed in complete darkness using special techniques I learned from the master photographer Harold Ross https://haroldrossfineart.wordpress.com. I owe a debt of gratitude to Harold for teaching me his unique approach to light painting.
