Stellar’s or northern sea lions are the largest of all the sea lions, reaching 3 m in length and a maximum weight of 350 kg. Their population off the British Colombia and nearby Alaskan coast has declined by 50% since the 1960’s, resulting in them now being listed on the Endangered Species Act.
