When most people think about owning their own business they think of the money, power, glamour and freedom that is so commonly associated with entrepreneurship. Whenever You look at entrepreneurial motivating quotes they always seem to be written from the position of success reflecting back on the struggle the authors faced early on in their careers. Well this is Nicole Mejia reporting to you live 25 months into owning my own business and I can tell you that the thing that gets me through each consecutive month is the sheer passion for what I do. There isn't any glamour associated with my working hours. The first few years of owning a business you'll need to wear every hat and assume every responsibility at least once no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. The money that people think new entrepreneurs have needs to be pumped back into the company to promote growth, the hiring of new employees and new developing projects. Sure, you wear the pants in the company, but every mistake and sometimes expensive lesson learned leaves you feeling powerless and defeated at times.
The first few years you learn the most. You learn that it was never about those things that entrepreneurs are glorified for but for the sake of accomplishment. You want to better the world and yourself and inspire people along the way.
Yes, in the end you may get to live your life like most people can't, but somewhere in the process of getting there you realize that it was never about that anyways.

Owning my own business is my greatest accomplishment to date. I'm sure as hell not perfect at it and I'm learning something new everyday, but I know what I want and I have the determination to get there so I know I'll figure it out on the way.
