Today marks the end of my 3rd month without climbing. It's the longest I've ever been without putting my climbing shoes on, and YES it's hard, and it was a tough (but smart) decision.  As you might know, my knee has been injured for about a year and a half now, and I got a surgery back in January for a cyste and a cracked meniscus. I got back in climbing even if I couldn't bend my knee all the way yet, but the results in bouldering were very surprising and motivating. My knee was getting more and more painful and mid June, it got unbearable. I stopped climbing for two weeks and attended to the Chamonix European championship to play in the overall game, but I felt a real pain and handicap and decided to stop my competition season then. I had few awesome plans for the summer (Tetons in the US with @joshlrsn, Flatanger in Norway with my family and Les gorges du Verdon in France with the EB team) and wanted to enjoy them so I climbed around a little, and it was nice to be able to scale my pain outside, not like in comps were you have no choice but giving it all! On the 1st of September, I got an infiltration and, with the advice of a medical staff, I decided to take a 3 monthes (up to 6, or to 9 if need...) stop of climbing or hiking to heal my knee. It was nice at the beginning to take time to do other things, but felt boring pretty fast even if I have my everyday work with my PhD. A month later I went to see a surgeon, who found some problems again with my meniscus  and I got another surgery at the end of October.  Tomorrow I have an appointment with the surgeon again, for a check up after the surgery, and I am hoping for real good news... like an answer on why my knee is still painful, some solutions about it and the best would be an authorization to climb again!  Finger crossed :) Picture from my bro @tomdurif during our family trip in Flatanger, Norway. @eb_climbing @petzl_official @volxholds @millet_mountain
