@JayDickmanPhoto On the National Geographic Expedition, “Cook Islands to Tahiti: Pristine Reefs of the South Pacific.” We just left one of the most remote, and pristine, areas on earth: Millennium Atoll. With the International Date Line “adjusted” a bit, this small atoll in the Southern Line Islands was the first land to greet the morning light of January 1, 2000. This atoll has amazing reef life, virtually undisturbed for decades. We dove on the atoll yesterday, and were stunned with the density of reef-life. An amazing, amazing place.
