As a travel photographer i really try to not just be an observer, but to immerse myself in the the places I shoot. My name is Chris Burkard and I am a new contributor here on Nat Geo Traveler. I have shared some of my favorite locations to photograph around the globe. From the Streets of Cuba to the Highlands of Iceland. The link is in our Profile.
I figured it best to start with the location that first inspired me to pick up a camera, Yosemite National Park. This place is pretty much a staple in modern day landscape and travel photography, but I have found that to truly experience this place you have to get out on the water. Kayaking in the early morning on the Merced River has become my new favorite way of viewing this classic park.
