A harp seal pup waits on the ice for it’s mother to return from a dive beneath the ice pack in Canada’s Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Thinning ice due to climate change over the last decade has caused problems for this species. Survival long term will require adapting to the loss of seas ice if these trends continue.
