Photo by @randyolson | @thephotosociety Fishermen on Ferguson Gulf in Lake Turkana. This is a beautiful spot to find food in the middle of a desert that is scarce for protein. Lava rocks and HOT (like being inside a microwave)… When Ethiopia’s (and China’s) Gibe III dam on the Omo River goes online the microwave will be all that is left. Search keywords BBC, Geothermal, Kenya for some insight into how this dam (that will be so damaging to so many) has become irrelevant in it’s main mission of selling power to Nairobi. Kenya will favor their own geothermal and solar. I will continue to post Lake Turkana photos here in the hopes that the people we met will still have a place to live after this dam goes online. In the hopes that they will not be the next wave of African refugees.
