As we move through the peak period of hurricane activity in the northern Hemisphere, it is interesting to note that there was a 54 hour period between Sept 12-13 when there was no tropical cyclone activity across the globe, according to meteorologist Dr. Philip Klotzbach from Colorado State University. Tropical Storm #Vamco then formed near the coast of #Vietnam, breaking the tropical cyclone-less streak. This week is looking calm compared to the last month with only a few areas of interest on the radar across the #Atlantic and #Pacific basins. We will be watching for 93L to possibly become #Ida over the next day or so. Invest 94L in the Gulf has a 30% chance of formation over the next 5 days, while 95L off of Africa has a 40% chance. Invest 90E off of Mexico currently has a low chance of formation. #SurflineForecast
