My #tbt goes to 2006 year and me being a bartender in Russian Samovar, NYC. When I was studying in university I really wanted to have car and my dad told me: " I can afford to get you a car but I won't do it, I want you to earn it yourself". That year I decided to spend the summer in USA by work and travel program where you can travel to other country and make some money. My first job in NYC I was hostess, then I worked my way up to waitress ( I have to say it was very hard for me cause not only my English was pretty bad, but I never worked in service industry before ? ) Few months later I was bartending at one of the busiest Russian restaurant in the heart of Manhattan. I really loved this job ?, it was amazing, so much fun and good money. I was so drove with idea to get myself a car, so I was working 6 days a week, pretty much every evening, I didn't travel within the country or spending money on expensive clothes like other students did, I was making money! And I was dreaming BIG. I didn't need to work this hard, I wasn't starving, my family was pretty wealthy and my parents gave me everything I needed ( except for luxurious stuff, that i didn't really need but always wanted) I could've just enjoyed myself in new country's making some pocket money without overworking myself, but that was to easy and to boring for me. I like to challenge myself and I like win over! After 6 months working in NYC it was time for me to go back home, but I new I was gonna come back and live in NYC one day. But I didn't go back with empty hands, I bought myself nice Audi A6. ( obviously not new ? and my dad handled 30% expenses) but I did earn this car, it was truly mine, not given by anyone, but earned! It felt amazing, my dad was very impressed and proud of me. It was important for me just to prove myself that I can get anything I want in life, I just have to work very hard for it. Ever since that time I don't except failures, I set the goal and I work for it and I know that eventually I'll get it, it's just matter of time. Remember, you can get anything you want in the World, you just have to want it really bad and work for it really hard!
