This is not a trick of the eye or camera, nor some special photoshop skills. This is exactly how the western edge of Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park, Montana looked when as I waited for the sun to set one spring evening. The waters were so calm and crystal clear. I swear, I could have thrown a rock out into the middle of the lake and watched the ripples roll out to every shoreline. It's wasn't just the view either, it was the quietness, the complete lack of a breeze, the stillness in the air. It was incredibly serene. This was before the rush of the summer crowds, before Logan Pass (across the continental divide) opened up for the summer, and I think it just proves that anytime is a good time to visit our national parks.
