The BLM plans to remove 141 of 156 horses in Oregon's Kiger herd and return only 36 to the wild. The nearby Riddle mountain herd will be reduced from 81 to 25 horses on 30,000 acres.
A roundup of Montana's Pryor mountain horses has begun. Salt River Arizona horse round up is delayed because of a public outcry.
What happens to wild horses when they are rounded up? They may be adopted but many horses removed go to long-term holding pastures in Nebraska, Oklahoma and other Midwest states at great cost to our federal government.
