"One of my tasks as #MelissaEtheridge’s tour manager is to navigate her onto the stage on time without anyone distracting her. On a hot July night in Airway Heights, Washington, I was escorting Melissa when she caught sight of #JoanJett backstage and made a beeline over to say hello. As if on cue, #DeborahHarry of #Blondie came out of her dressing room and joined them for a chat. By this time the crowd was applauding and screaming for Melissa. I gave her my ‘it’s time to go on’ look, which she acknowledged, but the moment was just too good. Seeing Melissa talking with two Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, I couldn’t help thinking how Melissa will soon be there as well. I asked the ladies if I could take a quick picture — then Melissa strapped on her guitar and strode out on stage to the roar of an excited audience."
