"It’s probably hard for today’s music shooters to imagine but there was a time when 'all access' was a reasonable and attainable position for photographers on assignment. It meant we could go where the best photos were. So it was for me at all of the Day on the Green concerts produced by Bill Graham — producer Graham, clearly the best of the best! And so it was in late July 1978, when the #RollingStones played the Oakland Coliseum. There is no better place to shoot a band than onstage with them, and there was no greater concert to shoot onstage than the Rolling Stones. It was a privilege and I tried to live up to my responsibility to make some memorable photos that day. This is one of them: #MickJagger, #KeithRichards and the Stones' 'logo flag' all combined to approximate the feeling of being there onstage with what has been called 'the World’s Greatest Rock & Roll Band.'" As told to @Rolling Stone by photographer @baronwolman
