"My father is a Jehovah Witness and to this day I remember the smell of CDs burning from when I was 14 years old, back home in Brazil and forced to incinerate my music on the family's barbecue. I had just discovered 'She Don't Use Jelly,' and I knew from my father's rage that I was in the right path for the weird stuff. 'Yoshimi...' was the soundtrack to so many of my young life experiences; it made things a little more colorful, and my existence a little more sane. When I arrived to shoot #WayneCoyne, I let him be my glittery shaman and guide me through the day. Synchronicity is a wonderful thing. I had all these crystals that I brought along with me to shoot through, but as it turned out, this 'Holy Mountain'–like rainbow spiral piece by Jen Stark was ready and waiting for us. As like everything else with #theFlamingLips, it makes that much more sense when it makes no sense at all. And on a side note, my ex just recently stole our car money to go see them play at the Psych Fest, so this photo is my revenge. Thanks, Universe!"
