"Finding some way to connect with my subjects is one of the most important parts of my job. I was actually really intimidated walking the room to shoot a legend like #JackNicholson so I had one plan — bring up the Lakers as fast as possible. I think I said my name, shook his hand and, before taking a breath, asked him how the Lakers were going to finish the season. It was the perfect thing to get him to settle in and luckily, growing up in L.A., I was a longtime Lakers fan so I could carry the conversation throughout the shoot and I was able to get all the pictures that I needed."
