Women wait their turn at a government radio station to read messages of love and support over the air to family members who had been kidnapped by guerrilla forces They could only hope that their words would somehow reach the ears of the captives. In many cases, the FARC and ELN guerrilla armies would hold their kidnap victims for years to force families to pay huge ransoms. The emotional effects on family members was catastrophic, as there was often no news to assure them that their loved ones remained alive. Indeed, many were never returned, having been executed by their captors in the bush.

En una estación de radio gubernamental, Mujeres esperan su turn para leer mensajes de amo al aire dirigidos a sus seres queridos secuestrados por las fuerzas guerrilleras de las FARC y ELN. Solo podían esperar que sus palabras llegaran a los oídos de ellos que tanto hacían falta. Muchas veces las guerrillas guardaron los secuestrados por años, para forzar la familia a pagar enormes rescates. El daño emocional a las familias fue tremendo, ya que muchas veces no recibían noticias para saber si los secuestrados quedaron con vida o no. Muchos nunca volvieron a sus hogares, ejecutados por sus captores en el monte. Las FARC, actualmente en negociaciones de paz con el gobierno colombiano, han declarado que no van a seguir secuestrando civiles, y parece que han cumplido con su promesa. Pero que pasa con los cuerpos de los que mataron?
