“When you start repeating yourself, it gets boring for everybody.” Jason Segel built a career out of deploying his sheepish countenance and aw-shucks manner to maximum comic effect. When news first broke that he would be playing David Foster Wallace in “The End of the Tour,” many Wallace fans thought it was a stunt. Wallace, who shot to literary fame for the voluminous 1996 novel #InfiniteJest, and later hanged himself, was known for his hyper-intricate fiction and nonfiction.
